SOUND FOREST Depy Antoniou, Sound Installation , Fluistertuin/BOSK Leeuwarden Netherlands 2022

Pictures / Video : Andreas Agrafiotis

Sound Forest is a social sound sculpture that aims to be enabled by natural interactive elements and human participation. Many metal leaves are attached and need to be attached to the installation. Key for the inspiration of this project was the term “Social Sculpture” by Joseph Beuys and his work of art, ‘7000 oaks’. Due to the fact that wind is a strong natural characteristic of The Netherlands the sound installation is activated by itself. Sounds produced by metal parts blend with natural sounds in the Potmarge area.
Participants are free to create their own acoustic experience by entering the Sound Forest, pulling the strings, and attaching their own metal leaf.
