Artist Statement
Depy Antoniou (1996) is a Greek interdisciplinary artist based in the Netherlands, working across digital arts, sound design, installations, performance art, and painting. Her practice investigates how sound, space, and the human body interact, focusing on the relationship between the physical and digital body, as well as its limitations and potential for enhancement.
She engages with walking as an artistic practice, collecting sounds from natural and urban environments and composing immersive soundscapes through digital editing. Her recent painting series translates sound into visual form, capturing echoes, rhythms, and noise through abstract gestures and textured surfaces, with a particular interest in how ephemeral auditory experiences can be materialized. By blending repetition, rhythm, and spatial interaction, her work creates heterotopian spaces that challenge perceptions of time and space.
